There are at least 59 people are dead and 515 injured at the Route 91 Harvest country music festival and the death toll makes this shooting the largest mass shooting in U.S. history. Gunman Stephan Paddock, 64, opened fire from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel towards an open-air, 3-day music festival on Sunday evening where more than 22,000 country fans came out to the best of the best country musicians.
Country music singer Jason Aldean was performing when the gunshots began and the singer ran off the stage as shooting erupted.
“Tonight has been beyond horrific. I still don’t know what to say but wanted to let everyone know that I and my crew are safe,” Aldean wrote on his official Instagram account, “My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone involved tonight. It hurts my heart that this would happen to anyone who was just coming out to enjoy what should have been a fun night.”
The current President of United States Donald Trump described the attack as “Pure evil” in one of his speeches from the White House this Monday.
