An emerging talent and a singer-turned-actress, Aliha Chaudhary was born in Lahore. Her family has a socialite industry background. PHASER Music Team took a very short interview of her to know about her hidden qualities!

  1. When did you start singing?

I started singing around 4 years back while I was still studying, almost finishing school and going into college.

  1. Which instruments do you play most?

The instrument which plays to my vocal strength is guitar as I am most comfortable in singing pop. Of course, I have been experimenting with other genres as well but I’m very comfortable in genre of pop.

  1. Before singing, you were a fashion model, and now a TV actress. Which profession did you enjoy the most?

Before I started singing, I was a VJ.I have done my bachelors in film making and acting so everything was sort of linked with my overall journey as a creative person. I enjoy singing the most followed by acting because in both these mediums, you get to express yourself a lot which, I find otherwise challenging, thanks to my introvert nature.

  1. Is your family musical?

No, not at all. Although, my father sometimes sings for fun and he has a melodious voice but none of us ever sang professionally, before me that is. Haha!

  1. Which famous singers do you admire the most and why?

Internationally, I like many artists such as Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber who has really evolved as an artist, Ed Sheeran and Adele. I love NFAK and I’m a huge fan of Atif Aslam.

  1. Have you participated in competitions?

Actually, no! I have judged a few of them but I’ve never been a part of them.

  1. Do you perform in public? Describe those occasions? Concerts, radio or TV?

Yes, Alhamdulillah I’ve performed many time. I have done concerts all over Pakistan and abroad.

  1. How do you handle mistakes during a performance?

I guess the overall energy and vibe is so humongous that even if you make a mistake, it doesn’t get noticed or you don’t have second thoughts because of your mistake because of the overall feeling you get while performing in front of a large crowd. When the crowd is singing with you, it’s such a phenomenal feeling on its own that the mistake just doesn’t get in the way.

  1. How often and for how long do you practice singing?

Well naturally, everything requires practice but unfortunately, I don’t really practice that much. I do have practice jams before I’m going for a concert.

  1. Do you also teach music?

Hahaha, actually no because I’m not a trained singer. I was always very passionate about singing so I gave it a go.

  1. What advice do you have for beginners who get nervous?

I think it’s totally okay to be nervous because we are all humans and we emote in a certain way and some situations actually require us to be nervous because when the outcome is great, the nervousness changes to joy and that’s when we enjoy the beauty of life. However, be confident in whatever you’re doing and flaunt it with sheer belief in yourself, always!
