The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, established in 1983 and dedicated to recording the history of some of the most influential musicians, bands, producers across the world, particularly in the area of rock and roll.
The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s Class of 2018 is proud to announce their nominations are in, and the list includes some of the most phenomenal names in the history of Rock.

- Judas Priest
- Kate Bush
- The Cars
- Dire Straits
- Geils Band
- LL Cool J
- The Meters
- The Moody Blues
- Rufus featuring Chaka Khan
- Nina Simone
- Sister Rosetta Tharpe
- Link Wray and The Zombie
For consecutive six years, the public will have the opportunity to vote for more than 800 artists, historians, and music industry insiders of the Rock Hall voting body. Fans are free to vote on the Rock Hall’s site for the nominees they would like to see inducted till December 5.
The top vote-getters will be announced in December and introduced on April 14 at a ceremony at Public Hall in Cleveland next year and HBO will broadcast ceremony later as well.
Radiohead and Rage Against the Machine are the only acts which will appear on the ballot in their first year of eligibility, while the marks the fifth appearance for the J.Geils Band, the fourth for LL Cool J and the Meters, the third for the Cars, MC5 and the Zombies and the Zombies and the second for Bon Jovi, Depeche Mode, Rufus featuring Chaka Khan and Link Wray.
Over the past five decades, Judas Priest has been featuring many lineups, but the Hall of Fame selected vocalist Rob Halford, bassist Ian Hill, guitarist Glenn Tipton and K.K. Downing and drummers Scott Travis, Les Binks and Dave Holland.
Rage Against The Machine haven’t performed since 2011 and that is why Rage bassist Tim Commerford said:
“It’ll be interesting to see who shows up, I think it’s pretty obvious. I think there’s somebody who’s going to show up and somebody who’s not going to show up and maybe somebody who’s going to show up with an enema filled with food coloring and shit all over the red carpet.”
Last year’s Hall of Fame class included Pearl Jam, Yes, Journey, Tupac Shakur, Joan Baez and Electric Light Orchestra. We’re really excited to see who makes it to the top!
